INTEGRATED
TRANSPORT
A company has
been formed to reopen the railway line from Oxford to Bletchley (Milton
Keynes) thus halving the time taken to go from Oxford to Cambridge. A
better idea would be to convert it to a track to take coaches only,
using a new design of coach with the most environmentally friendly and
sustainable means of propulsion. These Coaches could be made to fit on
the trains on the line from Bletchly to Bedfor and Cambridge and thus
would be able to take people from where they are in a variety of places
in Oxford, Milton Keynes and Cambridge to somewhere near their required
destination.
In this way, bit
by bit, using old lines axed by Beeching, an integrated public
transport system could be created over the years.
